Challengers

For most children, the opportunities to play and have fun are endless: after school clubs, swimming, birthday parties or something as simple as going to a friend’s house. However, for disabled children, things can be very different, the opportunities to play are extremely limited and in many cases non-existent. Disabled children and their families are often left feeling isolated, unhappy, and with nowhere to go. This is where Challengers comes in.

Chestnut Tree House

The Chestnut Tree House is a children’s charity providing hospice care services and community support for children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions in in East and West Sussex and South East Hampshire. Thanks to support from the local community, children and families who know they don’t have long together have the chance to live life to the full and say goodbye in the way that is right for them.

Combat Stress

Combat Stress is the UK’s leading mental health charity for veterans, providing free specialist clinical treatment and welfare support to ex-servicemen and women across the UK with mental health conditions. There are 6,000 veterans registered with the charity

Dame Vera Lynn Children's Charity

Dame vera Lynn Children's charity celebrates the children they work with, no matter their ability, to show parents and the wider world everything they can do. They help children under 5 with cerebral palsy and other motor learning impairments make the best possible start in life – and give families the support and skills to continue their development at home.

Dan’s Fund for Burns

Dan’s Fund For Burns, a UK based adult burns charity, was founded back in 2003 by Polly Brooks, MBE. Polly was badly burned herself in the Bali bombing in 2002 and sadly lost her first husband Dan and all her other friends in the blast. The only way she could try and cope with the scale of devastation was to set up a charity to try and help others deal with the enormity of a burn injury. Dan’s Fund is a small but incredibly effective charity designed to help adults affected by burns recover and re-build their lives.

Matt Hampson Foundation

The Foundation is busier than ever, helping an increasing number of young people seriously injured through sport. It was Matt Hampson’s and the Foundation’s big goal to build the Get Busy Living Centre, a place where their beneficiaries can receive rehabilitation and meet others in a similar position. This dream is now a reality and the centre opened in October 2018.

Rockinghorse Children’s Charity

Rockinghorse Children’s Charity have been supporting the medical needs of sick and disabled children and young people across Sussex since 1967. They do this by fundraising for cutting-edge medical equipment and enhancements to paediatric services. The projects the charity funds fare identified as important needs by frontline doctors, nurses and medical staff across Sussex

The Starr Trust

The Starr Trust removes roadblocks for young people to help them succeed and thrive in whatever they put their minds to. The charity aims to give young people a helping hand to achieve their goals at a time when they need it most and encourages independent thinking, a social conscience and self-belief. This can change the trajectory of a young person’s life.They do this by supporting individuals and groups with financial grants, sharing connections and encouraging success.
